HINTON, W.Va. (Hinton News) — Golf enthusiasts and supporters of literacy are teeing up for a day of swinging for a cause at the upcoming “Summers County Friends of the Library Golf Tournament.” Scheduled to take place at the scenic WillowWood Country Club, this event promises a day of camaraderie, competition and community support.

Mark your calendars for Sunday, June 30, when golfers of all levels will gather at WillowWood Country Club to participate in this charitable event. Tee-off time is set for 1 p.m. Teams will be selected between 12 and 12:30 p.m. on the day of the tournament, ensuring an equitable and exciting lineup.

The entry fee for all participants is $40, which includes the added bonus of two Mulligans to enhance your game. Funds generated from the tournament will be directed towards supporting vital library programs, notably the Summer Reading Program, art programs, book fairs and others.

Prizes await the top-performing teams, with the first-place winners walking away with a prize of $400, followed by $200 for the second-place team, and $100 for the third-place team. Additionally, participants can anticipate door prizes and the chance to participate in 50/50 raffles, adding an extra layer of excitement to the day’s proceedings.

For those eager to participate, registration is simple; contact WillowWood Country Club at 304-466-3220 before 7 p.m. on June 29 to secure your spot on the green. While enjoying a day of golf and philanthropy, participants can also indulge in a bagged lunch available onsite.

Join the Friends of the Library for a day of swinging, putting, and giving back as the community comes together to support the Summers County Library and its invaluable community programs. Your participation makes a difference.
