SUMMERS COUNTY W.Va. (WVDN) – A big congratulations to the West Virginia Lady Elite 8th Grade Girls Basketball Travel Team for their tremendous performance in winning the Carolina Stars Basketball Mount Airy Invitational tournament. This team consists of Southern West Virginia young ladies from Wyoming, Raleigh, Summers and Fayette counties.

The West Virginia Lady Elite defeated OTG Elite (Taylorsville) NC, 29-25 in the 8th Grade Championship Game.

The key to this game was the inside-out threat that Coaches Tommy Carter, Eric Wickline, and Martin Glende’s team had with Jami Cox scoring 10 points and Lynzzie Farley adding 8 points, while Alyssa Coleman chipped in 5 points along with Kendal Wickline’s 4 points.

WV Lady Elite 8th Grade Girls are back in action this week as they are participating in the Third Annual Beckley Fellowship Tournament held at Greater Beckley Christian School April 5-6.
