HINTON W.Va. (Hinton News) – Campbell-Flannagan-Murrell House Museum opens a new exhibit in their gallery on Friday, Sept. 15 from 5-7 p.m. with wine and appetizers available for purchase
The exhibit, called Tracks & Toppers: A Hat-tastic Journey through the Style of Dorothy Jean Boley, will display and sell the many hats, shoes and purses that were donated to our Summers County Library.
If you wear a size 8 shoe, you definitely want to attend and bring your friends. Miss Boley was once said to be The Spirit of Hinton. She worked in the clerical department of the C & O Railroad for 43 years. Dorothy Jean was best known for volunteering at Hinton’s Railroad Museum and her stylish ensembles of her shoes, purses and hats.
The CFM House Museum will be selling these wonderful items for the Friends of the Summers County Library. You may view and purchase the hats, purses and shoes on any Saturday from 1-4 at the Museum (5th and Temple Streets). You may also call Julia Gaitor at 518-423-0725 to arrange a time that would be more convenient for you. You may also view the items online at the Library’s Facebook page and website.
The CFM House Museum volunteers are happy to be working with The Friends of the Library…we are all working together for the best community.
