Buster Marvin Adkins

Buster Marvin Adkins, 80, of Mineral Wells, passed away July 25, 2023, at WVU Medicine CCMC.

Buster was born on November 20, 1942, in Sandstone, WV, and was the son of Rosa Mae Gillian and Norvil Wilson “Tally” Adkins.

Buster worked for the B&O Railroad/Chessie System/CSX Corporation for 30 years and retired after a successful career. While working, he was a member of the United Transportation Union and served as the area representative. He also loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and woodworking in his spare time. He also loved spending time with his family and friends.

Buster is survived by his wife, Cora Evangeline “Eve”, of 57 years. He is also survived by his children, Jeffrey Marvin Adkins (Kimberly) of Gay, WV, Gary Deon Adkins of Mineral Wells, WV, and Pamela Dianne Deibel of Mineral Wells, WV. He is also survived by his sister, Hazel Martin (Tom) of Beckley, WV; brother-in-law, Harry Bennett of Hinton, WV; grandchildren, Cody, Addie, Ellie, Tyler, and Ethan; along with 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces/nephews.

In addition to his parents, Buster was preceded in death by an infant son, Buster M Adkins Jr; his brothers, Jerry and Harry; along with sisters, Retha and Mary; and brother-in-law, Isaac Jeremiah “Jerry” Bennett.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, WV.
