LEWISBURG (Hinton News) – Artist Lynn Payne is holding an exhibit in Lewisburg at the Thistle Lounge at the General Lewis Inn: 1236 E. Washington Street, Lewisburg. The exhibit runs from August 1 through October 3. She will hold a meet and greet on Saturday, August 26, from 5-7 p.m.
Payne lives in Charleston, West Virginia, with her husband, photographer Steve Payne, and their daughter, Georgia. She received training in illustration and design from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale and paints daily in her Charleston studio. Her art show in Lewisburg will feature eight oil paintings displayed in the Thistle Lounge at the General Lewis Inn.
Payne’s art is representational with touches of impressionism inspired by her travels, people, and home surroundings, including the West Virginia hillsides. Her colorful paintings have appeared on greeting cards, book covers, and needlepoint canvases and were most recently exhibited in the 2023 Best of West Virginia juried art show at Tamarack in Beckley, WV.
The General Lewis Inn is open daily for visitors, guests, and friends. The Thistle Lounge at the General Lewis Inn is open daily for beverages 5 p.m.-11 p.m.
