SUMMERS COUNTY (Hinton News) – Warriors in the Field, a non-profit veteran’s organization is holding a poker run event on Saturday, July 15. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. at River City. The ride consists of 79 miles that traverse Summers, Monroe, Mercer and Giles counties, ending back in Summers.

The last stop of the poker run is Hill Top Bar in Lowell. When participants arrive, the festivities continue with a pig roast, a silent auction and a concert by Cody Wickline. According to one of the organizers Johnny Ratliff, there are “all kinds” of door prizes that will be given away during the event.

This poker run creates an excellent opportunity to give back to and support veterans. The event reportedly has more than 200 riders committed. According to Ratliff, any street-legal vehicle is welcome to ride in the event. The cost is $25 per bike and $10 per extra hand. Additionally, the pig roast is $10 per plate.

For more information, contact Chris Gilbert at 304-207-6000 or Johnny Ratliff at 931-801-6881.
