HINTON, (Hinton News) – After a four-year hiatus, Summers County Lady Bobcat Softball is back and covering new ground. Despite the school going without a team for a few years, they are determined to succeed. Made up of mostly freshmen and a few sophomores and juniors, this is a young team.
Molly Mann, a junior, commented on the return of softball.
“We’re super excited to have a team this year. Especially since we didn’t have one since Covid.” Mann stated.
Under the direction of Coach Danielle Richmond, the team opened their season on March 23 and has been putting in the work ever since. Home games are being played at Bellepoint Park. Mann commented on the hard work of her teammates.
Mann said, “All of us have been working really hard and have improved since the first practice and game.”
The softball team still has a few games left in their season. Come out and give them your support. Mann also made a comment on the future of their season.
“We hope to continue the season with a greater aspect. We’re truly thankful for any amount of support and help,” said Mann.
