HINTON, (Hinton News) – The Lady Bobcats pounced to victory against Frankfort in their first State Tournament game 46-29. Gracie Harvey was named Player of the Game scoring 13 points with 11 rebounds. The team is now preparing for the semi-finals against Charleston Catholic on Friday.
The game got off to a somewhat slow start, but the Lady Bobcats fought hard. Each player put in every ounce of effort they had to give. Out of the five field goals scored in the first half, two were from Abby Persinger. After a stint of no scores, Sullivan Pivont broke the snap with a three-pointer.
Before the game began, Lady Bobcat Liv Meador, who enlisted with the West Virginia Army National Guard, was presented with a Student-Athlete Leadership Award prior. Meador will begin training with the Gaurd this summer.
