Obituary: Pauline Harvey Meadows, 89

MEADOWS

Pauline Harvey Meadows, 89, of Hinton, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at Main Street Care, following a long illness.

Born, March 23, 1933, in Hinton, she was the daughter of the late Ray Ellsworth and Ella Jane Cox Farley.

Pauline graduated from Hinton High School, 1951, and Roanoke Business College in 1953. She retired from G. C. Murphy Company, where she was an Auditor for the Eastern Region of the United States. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, and the Business and Professional Women’s Club, where she was chosen as Woman of the Year for 2003-2004. She was a former board member of the Senior Citizen’s Center and was a member of the Summers County Democratic Women.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman and Marcus Farley; two sisters, Carol Sue Waddell and Janice Meador; four step-sons, Danny and Teddy Mansfield, Phillip Harvey, and Stephen Meadows; and a step-grandchild, Jerry Dean (J.D.) Parker, II; her first husband, Basil Green Harvey; and her second husband, Ruehl Meadows.

Those left to cherish her memory include two step-sons, Jack Harvey (Cathy) of Nimitz, and Tom Harvey of Forest Hill; four step-daughters, Judy Blevins (Ritchie), of Huntington, Beverly Harvey of Forest Hill, Martha Estes and Mary Nichols (Bob) both of Jumping Branch; adopted daughter, Sommer Carter (Jeff) of Caldwell; a brother, Ronald Farley (Patty) of Bonita Springs, FL; and eight step-grandchildren, Jackson, Bailey, Ethan, and Kennedy Carter, Jayden and Jordan Parker, Corey and Joshua Harvey also survive.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at 12 noon, at Pivont Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Butch Honaker officiating. Burial will follow at the Lilly-Crews Cemetery, at Nimitz. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. prior to service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of Southern WV.

Family will serve as pallbearers.
