The annual Wings and Wheels Festival held at the Hinton-Alderson Airport in Pence Springs just announced its 2022 schedule. All activities will take place on Sept. 24 at the airport.
11 a.m. – Gate opens, vendors and artists on display, food for sale, and car judging occurs.
11:30 a.m. – Music by Tommy Griffith.
12:30 p.m. – African Drummers perform.
1 p.m. Mike Gwinn Talks “Mike Gwinn, a 2022 inductee into the Army Aviation Hall of Fame, will talk about his actions as a member of Task Force Ranger during the battle of the Black Sea in Mogadishu. This operation is commonly referred to sd “Black Hawk Down” and was the subject of a book by Mark Bowden and made into a major motion picture.”
1:30 p.m. – Auto procession/Award ceremony for winning cars and planes.
2 p.m. – More music by Tommy Griffith, vendors and organized milling about.
3 p.m. – Close.
