FORD
Marie Ford, 91, of Hinton died Monday, September 27, 2021 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley following a short illness.
Born March 30, 1930 at Jumping Branch, she was the daughter of the late James McLaughlin and Emma Dobbins McLaughlin.
Mrs. Ford was a 1948 graduate of Hinton High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Hinton and loved attending church, as long as her health permitted. She was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed going to ball games for her family. Most of all, she loved her family and her greatest joy was being a wife, mother, and grandmother.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James McLaughlin; and two sisters, Mary Yancey and Millie Meadows.
Survivors include her husband of 73 years, James “Bootie” Ford; two sons, Rodney Ford and wife, Lyn of Hilldale and Richard Ford and wife, Robin of Forest Hill; one daughter, Robin McNeer and husband, Steve of Greenville; one half brother, Pat McLaughlin and wife, Carol of Beaver; five grandchildren, Amy Hashley and husband, Mike, John Ford and wife, Stacey, Tucker Ford and wife, Courtney, Tara Jones and husband, Eric, and Reed McNeer; seven great-grandchildren also survive.
Due to COVID19, a private funeral service was held on Friday, October 1, 2021 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Central Baptist Church of Hinton, WV.
