MCMILLION
Sandra Carter McMillion, 68, of Alderson, WV went home to be with the Lord on February 26, 2021 following a hard fight with Breast Cancer.
She was born on June 11, 1952 in Logan, WV, a daughter of the late Grover Cleveland Carter and Mary Ruth Bowens Carter Stewart.
Sandra attended church at the Ministry Place in Hinton, WV. She enjoyed family get-togethers, reading, watching old movies, going camping and picnics, as well as sitting on the beach watching the sun set. She also enjoyed long drives to places she had never been.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Arnold McMillion; a brother, Grover “Frankie” Carter; and her grandparents, Lewis and Crattie Bowens and Cleveland and Sarah Carter.
Survivors include two daughters, Annette (Scott) Rodes of Fort Spring and Jennifer McMillion of Wayside; a son, Arnold Edward (Marie) McMillion, Jr. of Wayside; four grandchildren, Daniel Smith, Jonathan Smith, and Kelly (Brandon) Pickles all of Alderson, and Sophia Tuckwiller of Wayside; a great-grandchild due in April; five sisters, Ida Kay McMillion of Alderson, Edna Sue Carter of Virginia Beach, VA, Francine (Denver L.) Madden of Berea, KY, Donna Mae (Steve) Martin of Mebane, NC, and Ruth Ann Walker of Oceana; a brother, Ross Q. (Betty) Carter of Nashville, MI; and a host of other loving family and friends.
Funeral service was held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 3rd at the Griffith Creek Baptist Church, Alderson, WV with Bro. Robbie Rodes officiating. She was laid to rest in the Campground Cemetery, Wayside, WV. Friends could gather with the family to celebrate her life from 12 p.m. until time of service on Wednesday at the church. Pallbearers were family and friends.
The family is being served by Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.
