HINTON, W.Va. (Hinton News) — The Summers County Commission has scheduled a series of special sessions beginning this week to develop and approve the county’s upcoming budget.

The commission will meet for budget workshops on Wednesday, March 18; Thursday, March 19; Monday, March 23; and Tuesday, March 24. Each session is slated to begin at 10 a.m. at the Summers County Commission office, located at 120 Ballengee St., Suite 203, in Hinton.

Commission President Charles W. Saunders announced the meetings in concurrence with Commissioners Mike Gore and Ted Kula. According to the session agenda, the final budget is scheduled for approval on March 24. However, officials noted that if work is completed ahead of schedule, the budget may be approved during an earlier workshop.

The public may participate in the meetings remotely by calling 1-469-965-2504 and entering access code 342 290 785#.

The Summers County Commission is responsible for the administration of county business and includes Clerk Lynn Reed and Administrator Lisa Eads.
