HINTON, W.Va. (Hinton News) — The Summers County Humane Society is searching for a permanent home for Abby, a 1.5-year-old dog described by shelter staff as a “sweetheart with both beauty and a heart of gold.”

Abby, who weighs 50 pounds, is described as a versatile medium-sized companion suitable for both active outdoor adventures and quiet indoor relaxation.

According to Summers County Humane/ACWP staff, Abby has a gentle temperament that makes her an ideal candidate for many types of households. Her profile highlights several key social traits:

Compatibility: She is noted to be great with cats and good with children.

Socialization: She is friendly with other dogs, provided they are kind to her.

Personality: Staff describe her as sweet, gentle, and loyal.

The shelter emphasized that Abby is looking for a family that will provide her with the “love and respect” she deserves.

Potential adopters interested in meeting Abby or beginning the adoption process can find the official application on the organization’s website at acwp-wv.org.
