SUMMERS COUNTY W.Va. (Hinton News) – This week, I am calling upon you again for your help in identifying two photos. There are three unmarked photos I have left in the collection that Tom Hutchison gave to me last year. They came from his Grandfather Oscar Hutchison’s estate. Oscar was an early photographer in Summers County who died at an early age.

These are two of the three photos. The third is of an early sawmill, possibly in Summers County. That is yet to be determined, as I will show it a little later on. These two old farm scenes were too beautiful and unique now to show.
I know nothing about them at all, other than they depict farm scenes with animals in the countryside. Now is where you come in. If you happen to recognize either of these locations, please email me at greenbrierantiques@gmail.com. So I can document them for future generations.
I intend to have them enlarged and framed in antique oak frames I bought at an estate auction in Talcott years ago. Even if they were not taken in Summers County, the fact that they belonged to Oscar, an early photographer in the county, makes them a part of Summers County history to me. My next story deadline is Christmas Day, so I’d better get to digging through my hoard to make it a good one. Ha.
