Emergency vehicle lights flashing, police car inspecting city, security service

MONROE COUNTY W.Va. (Hinton News) – According to multiple reports, the assistant principal at Mountain View Elementary – Middle School was found to be under the influence of alcohol while on school grounds on Sept. 5. Additionally, the assistant principal allegedly had alcohol present at the school.

Parents were reportedly notified of the situation at the end of the day on Sept. 5 via a robocall.

According to a statement from Monroe County Superintendent Jason Conaway, reported by WVNS, law enforcement is charging the assistant principal with two misdemeanors. The statement also notes that the individual in question has been removed from duty, and additional personnel action is set to be presented at an upcoming board meeting.
