Troy Wilbur Phillips

Troy Wilbur Phillips, 86, widower of Debbie Phillips, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2025. Born in Athens, WV, he was the son of the late Preston and Maude Keaton Phillips.

A former maintenance technician with Louisville Forge, Troy spent many years working construction with Daniel Construction Company and Capital Rigging. An Army veteran of the Korean War, he enjoyed reading Louis L’Amour westerns and watching sports in general. Troy was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

He is survived by his son, Randy (Patty) Phillips; brother, Arnold Phillips; sisters, Edith Wickline and Rita Draper; grandsons, Corey Micheal (Katelyn) Phillips and Brandon Scott (Hannah) Phillips; great-grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth Phillips, Blake Emery Phillips, and Bennett Scott Phillips. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ray Phillips and Tom Phillips.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 11th, at Johnson’s Funeral Home, conducted by Mike Ryan. Burial will follow at the Crestlawn Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 – 8 p.m. Thursday, July 10th.
