JUMPING BRANCH W.Va. (Hinton News) – According to a criminal complaint, on March 23, around 8:56 p.m., police received a call in which the officer was advised that a male was being chased down the road by another male carrying a shotgun and pistol. The first victim stated that he was walking up the steps to go to victim number two’s house when the suspect, identified as George Henry Mohr, 64, of Jumping Branch, came up behind him with a shotgun in one hand and a pistol in the other hand. The first victim said that Mohr was yelling at him and the other victim to go into the house while pointing the gun at them. Once Mohr had both victims in the residence, he took the second victim into the bedroom. According to the complaint, during this time, the first victim ran out the door and down the road.
The deputy arrived on scene and made contact with Mohr, standing out in a field holding a beer bottle. Mohr was placed in handcuffs and inside the cruiser for further investigation, according to the criminal complaint. Mohr stated that the guns had been placed back in his camper.
The deputy then made contact with both victims according to the information in the criminal complaint. According to the first victim, Mohr came up behind both of them and told the first victim to leave the property. Mohr had a gun pointed at them and told them to leave the property. The second victim stated that once in the bedroom she fought Mohr over a handgun. The criminal complaint states that he held it to her head and said, “You’re going to meet Jeremy,“ who is her deceased husband. Right after that, Mohr reportedly left the room. The victim allegedly said she wouldn’t press charges if he would leave.
The two guns were located inside Mohr’s camper which is located on the same property with the second victim. Both guns were repotedly fully loaded with one in the chamber. Mohr was placed under arrest on two counts of brandishing a deadly weapon, two counts of wanton endangerment involving a firearm, domestic battery and domestic assault.
At the time of publishing, Mohr is being held in Southern Regional Jail with his bail set at $13,000.
