UPDATE: The driver’s wife made a statement to Hinton News on Thursday, July 20. She stated that her husband, the driver in the incident, experienced a medical emergency before/during the wreck and was flown to a hospital in Huntington afterward. She also noted, “no drugs or alcohol were involved.”

*BREAKING NEWS* LOWELL (Hinton News) – Emergency responders are currently at Lowell Market, where a vehicle has struck the sign. We have received unconfirmed reports that the driver is out of the car. Multiple agencies, including Talcott Fire Department, Summers County EMS and Summers County Sheriff’s Office, are on the scene.

No other details are available at this time. Use caution if driving in this area.
