Hunter Thompson - mug shot

Hunter Thompson

Officers attempted to stop a vehicle observed illegally passing on a double yellow line and speeding late Wednesday, May 18. The driver was later identified as Hunter Ross Thompson, 24, of Talcott.

After officers used lights and sirens in an attempt to pull over the vehicle, Thompson allegedly fled down Route 12 towards Greenbrier County. According to the criminal complaint, Thompson reached speeds in excess of 100 mph.

The criminal complaint states that an officer witnessed Thompson crash into a guardrail, take back off, and subsequently crash again near the Greenbrier County line, this time into the side of a hill. Following the second wreck, the officer notes that he observed the driver get out of the vehicle. At the time, the officer saw that the individual appeared to be bleeding from the head.

Allegedly, Thompson initially told the officer his name was Samuel Losasso but later stated that he lied and gave the officer his real name. He allegedly also said he had consumed Methamphetamine earlier in the day. EMS units transported Thompson to Greenbrier Valley Medical Center for treatment.

The criminal complaint further states that Thompson has a previous conviction for Driving Revoked DUI.

According to a statement from the Summers County Sheriff, Thompson was cleared by medical and transported to Southern Regional Jail. At the time of writing, Thompson remains at SRJ and faces multiple charges. His bail has been set at $5000.
