ALDERSON W.Va. (Hinton News) — Following an extensive joint investigation and a search warrant conducted by the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department and the West Virginia State Police Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, Robert Bond Sipos, 62, of Snake Run, Alderson, has been charged with possession of child pornography. Sergeant D. Vaught of the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office is the lead investigator.

The investigation resulted in Sipos being formally charged and subsequently taken into custody. His bond was set at $75,000.

Both agencies remain committed to safeguarding children and holding individuals accountable for crimes involving the exploitation of minors. Additional details regarding the investigation will be released as appropriate and in accordance with ongoing legal proceedings.

Sheriff Bart Baker would like to caution parents to closely monitor what their children are doing on the internet. He said, “Predators use the internet and social media platforms to gain access to children. Our children are our most precious resource and must be protected. If you target our children, we will target you! The Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office is dedicated to protecting our youth and will work tirelessly to find those who harm or exploit them and put those perpetrators in prison.”
