PIPESTEM — The 48th annual Pumpkin Run, wrapping up the local outdoor running season, will take place on Saturday morning, October 26, at Pipestem Resort State Park.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at the park headquarters. Categories include a 5-kilometer run, a 10K run, and a 5K walk. All these races begin at 10 a.m. In addition, a “fun run” for children age 12 and under will take place at 11 a.m.

The event also includes runners competing in the category of best Halloween costume.

After the races, participants will be offered homemade baked goods prior to the awards ceremony.

The yearly Pumpkin Run is a cooperative activity by the park and the Southern West Virginia Road Runners Club. Entry fee for non-members of the club is $20 prior to race day and $30 on Saturday.

To register or for more information, contact Paul Hodges at 304-384-7879, 304-888-0939, or at elijahp@suddenlink.net.
