I'm Squirtle! I am almost a year old and looking to spend my first birthday in my forever home!

SUMMERS COUNTY W.Va. (Hinton News) – If you want to have a good time and help our furry friends simultaneously, then Summers County ACWP has some events coming up that you won’t want to miss. First up on Sept. 28 is Bark in the Park. This event will take place from 9 a.m. until noon in conjunction with the Farmers Market on James Street and Courthouse Square.

There will be lots of fun activities including yoga at 11 a.m. with Lewisburg yoga instructor Mary Vigueras. Please arrive by 10:45 and bring a towel or yoga mat. While admission is free, donations are appreciated.

Henna tattoos will also be available onsite by Priyanka, a henna tattoo artist. Prices range from $10-$200 depending on design.  

For entertainment, there will be singer and songwriter Steve Lilly, who will be performing on an acoustic guitar. 

Baked goods and other items will be available to purchase along with microchipping for your pet for $20 per dog.

Bring your dog for nail trimming from Dog Gone Fresh Pet Grooming for only $15.

There will be dogs and puppies available for adoption on site hoping to find loving, forever homes.

The next not-to-miss event is a meet the candidate bean dinner on Oct. 19 from 6-9 p.m. The event will be held at the Summers County Memorial Building located at 451 1st Ave Hinton WV.  Price is $10 and includes beans, cornbread, relish, onions, drink and dessert. Takeout will be available along with whole cakes and pies to purchase.
