Two Section Rivals, the Summers County Bobcats and Greenbrier West Cavaliers faced each other Monday, May 10th.
Summers County was behind 8-6 in the bottom of the seventh inning when senior Levi Jones hit a walk-off homerun on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring three runs. Jones drove in a total of five runs during the game. Jones went 3-for-4 at the plate and drove in multiple runs on a homerun in the sixth inning and his walk off homerun in the seventh inning.
Gracin Price was on the mound to start off for the Bobcats, but TJ Gill came in as a relief and took the title of winning pitcher. Summers County had seven hits in the game. Three of those belonged to Jones, two belonged to junior Sam Whittaker, freshman Ben Lane had one and freshman Brandan Isaac had one.
Summers County defeated the Cavaliers 9-8, thanks to the walk-off homerun. Great teamwork and way to go Bobcats!!
