It has been a particularly difficult two-days for West Virginia. Over the last 48-hours, the Department of Health and Human Resources has reported that an additional 15 residents have succumbed to complications of COVID-19.
“We are deeply saddened by this news; a loss to both family and our state,” Cabinet Secretary Bill Crouch said, in a message posted on the DHHR’s website. “Our deepest condolences are extended at this time of grief.”
Among the confirmed deceased were an 83-year old Mingo County man, an 87-year old Mason County woman, a 62-year old Logan County man, a 67-year old Cabell County man, a 48-year old Hardy County man, a 66-year old Mercer County man, a 79-year old Mercer County man, a 62-year old Raleigh County woman, a 79-year old Raleigh County woman, an 81-year old Putnam County man, a 93-year old Putnam County woman, a 71-year old Kanawha County woman, a 72-year old Kanawha County man and a 78-year old Kanawha County man.
308 West Virginians have now been lost to the virus, including 306 confirmed and 2 probable cases, with 444 new cases having been identified since Friday, September 18. 509,154 tests have been performed since the onset of the pandemic, yielding 13,542 confirmed-positive, and 332 probable cases. Currently, there are 3,411 active cases statewide, and 9,826 of those infected have recovered. The daily positive-percentage continues to fluctuate, dipping to 3.13% on Sunday. And the cumulative positive-percentage remained steady over the weekend, holding at 2.72%.

Testing hours are from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. The Highlands Power Center (lower parking lot) located at 565 Cabela Dr. in Triadelphia. Testing hours are from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Tuesday, September 22 at A More Excellent Way Life Center Church, located at 504 Virginia St. West in Triadelphia. Testing hours are from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. Wednesday, September 23 at Larry Joe Harless Center, located at 202 Larry Joe Harless Dr. in Gilbert. Testing hours are from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Thursday, September 24 at 1 Everest Dr. in Fairmont. Testing hours are from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Friday, September 25 at Cabell County EMS Station #7, located at 1597 US Route 60 in Milton. Testing hours are from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m. And Saturday, September 26 at the Riverfront Park, located at 220 Riverfront Park in Ravenswood. Testing hours are from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m.
